It's playoff time, and Oviedo had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Buchholz Bobcats 3-0 on Saturday. The victory was familiar territory for the Lions, who have now won six contests in a row.

One reason for the win was Oviedo's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-14, 25-11.

Leading Oviedo to victory were Avery Stephens and Gabriella Travieso. Stephens had 18 digs, while Travieso had 12 digs and two aces. Stephens is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Oviedo was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in six consecutive matchups.

Despite the loss, Buchholz still got an impressive performance from Sophia Lingis, who had three digs and two aces.

Oviedo's win bumped their record up to 22-6. As for Buchholz, they moved to 20-6 with that defeat, which also ended their nine-match winning streak.

Looking ahead, Oviedo will face off against Gulf Breeze at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Buchholz does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
