Basketball Recap: Cornell Takes a Loss

Cornell and Bayfield squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Cornell had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 101-37 loss at the hands of the Bayfield Trollers. The Chiefs' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it 16 in a row.

Bayfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Quintin Bresette, who posted 29 points. Bresette's big performance that evening made it 14 games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Maxwell Gordon, who had 21 points.

Cornell's loss dropped their record down to 1-21. As for Bayfield, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

Cornell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bayfield, they will challenge Drummond at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
