Recap: Christ the King Crusaders vs. Community School of Davidson Spartans
The Christ the King Crusaders fell victim to the Community School of Davidson Spartans''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Spartans, falling 50-0. Christ the King has struggled against Community School of Davidson recently, as their contest on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Jamison Ehret threw for 44 yards on three of 14 attempts. Andrew Bauders was his top target, picking up 29 receiving yards and no touchdowns. On the ground, JP Zimmerman rushed for 56 yards.
Brandon Albert continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Community School of Davidson, rushing for 278 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. AJ Houston got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Christ the King's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.3 points per game. As for Community School of Davidson, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Christ the King will be playing at home against Bishop McGuinness at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Bishop McGuinness is ranked 282nd, while Christ the King is ranked 299th). As for Community School of Davidson, they will head out on the road to face off against Pine Lake Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
