Basketball Recap: Joshua Kinney's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Denbigh Baptist Christian over Summit Christian Academy

Denbigh Baptist Christian easily dispatched StoneBridge last Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Denbigh Baptist Christian Minutemen fell just short of the Summit Christian Academy Eagles by a score of 63-60 on Thursday. The Minutemen were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Denbigh Baptist Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Joshua Kinney, who posted 21 points. Tyson Fox was another key player, putting up 18 points.

Summit Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Courtland Reiter, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 16 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Miller, who went 7 for 10 en route to 16 points and eight rebounds.

Denbigh Baptist Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Summit Christian Academy, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-9.

Denbigh Baptist Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 80-50 defeat against Atlantic Shores Christian on the 17th. Summit Christian Academy has also already played their next matchup, a 64-29 win against TEACH Homeschool on the 17th.
