Basketball Game Preview: McCluer Comets vs. Granite City Warriors

The McCluer Comets will head out on the road to face off against the Granite City Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. McCluer will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

Last Friday, McCluer came up short against Ritenour and fell 39-27. The game marked the Comets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Granite City played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Collinsville an easy 56-31 win. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Granite City's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for McCluer, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

McCluer took a serious blow against Granite City in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 57-29. Can McCluer avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
