Soccer Recap: Smith County Comes Up Short

Smith County and Macon County combined for 14 shots on goal on Tuesday, which explains the impressive seven total goals scored. The Owls came up short against the Tigers, falling 6-1. The matchup was a close 2-1 at the break, but unfortunately for Smith County it sure didn't stay that way.

Their goal came courtesy of Gavin Kemp, who's now up to four this season.

Smith County dropped their record down to 2-9-1 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Macon County, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3-1.

Coming up, Smith County will be playing in front of their home fans against Jackson County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Macon County, they will head out to challenge Greenbrier at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Macon County will be up against Greenbrier's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.56 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
