Fike extended their winning streak to 18 games thanks to a huge performance from Jamaria Freeman. The Fike Demons skirted past the C.B. Aycock Golden Falcons 45-43 thanks to Freeman, who posted 24 points and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Fike's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jewel Brewington, who earned four points. She has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played.

C.B. Aycock's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madison Smith, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 13 boards. Those 13 rebounds gave Smith a new career-high. Lauren Burton was another key player, putting up six points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Fike's victory was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-0. As for C.B. Aycock, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-5.

Fike wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 68-55 win against East Wake on the 7th. As for C.B. Aycock, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-32 victory against West Johnston on the 7th.
