Basketball Recap: Jacory Bland's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Puckett over Raleigh

Puckett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 55-51 heartbreaker at the hands of the Raleigh Lions. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-61 back in December of 2024.

Several Wolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jacory Bland, who posted 14 points. Marcus Parker was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Puckett's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Raleigh, they pushed their record up to 4-14 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Puckett wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 68-43 victory against Pisgah on the 21st. Raleigh has also already played their next contest (against Heidelberg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
