Recap: Wellington-Napoleon Tigers vs. North Platte Panthers
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Wellington-Napoleon Tigers, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were dealt a 59-14 loss at the hands of North Platte on Friday. Wellington-Napoleon was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-0.
Leading North Platte to victory were Dylan Armstrong and Jason Shanks. Armstrong gained 34 total yards and three touchdowns, while Shanks rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to North Platte's defense and their eight sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Owen Stockbauer and Armstrong who racked up four sacks between them.
Wellington-Napoleon's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for North Platte, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Wellington-Napoleon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. North Platte is on the road again on Friday and play against Crest Ridge/Chilhowee.
