Palmetto is a perfect 10-0 against South Dade since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Panthers will face off against the Buccaneers. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Thursday just wasn't the day for Palmetto's offense. They came up short against Coral Reef last Thursday, falling 15-0. The Panthers have struggled against the Barracudas recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.
Meanwhile, South Dade fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Ferguson on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They lost 19-13 to the Falcons.
B. Cuellar put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up three earned (and eight unearned) runs off seven hits. Cuellar was even better at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, South Dade got a massive performance out of K. Pena, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of A. Tomas, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Palmetto has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .459. However, it's not like South Dade struggles in that department as they've averaged .579. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Palmetto took their win against South Dade when the teams last played last Wednesday by a conclusive 25-8 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
