Baseball Recap: Upper Merion Area Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Upper Merion Area dropped their record down to 7-5 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Spring-Ford Rams by a score of 6-5. The Vikings were not able to make up for their defeat to the Rams from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Upper Merion Area got a good showing from Tristan Fanning, who tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Fanning is becoming a predictor of the Vikings' success: when he allows at most three earned runs the team is 4-1 (and 3-4 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, David Peck was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

As for Spring-Ford, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games.

On Spring-Ford's side, Luke Pufko tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. Pufko has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Liam Quinn was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Luke Sedor was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Upper Merion Area didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Phoenixville on the 24th. As for Spring-Ford, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Upper Perkiomen on the 24th.
