Woodland put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They managed a 68-64 victory over the Charleston Bluejays. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Bluejays are ranked 240th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Charleston's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Da?Kyrious Williams, who went 8 of 12 on his way to 18 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Deshaun Henderson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards.

Woodland's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Charleston, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-5.

Woodland will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Richland at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Charleston, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Bell City at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
