Baseball Recap: Northlake Christian Has No Trouble Against Assumption

On Thursday, the Northlake Christian Wolverines made easy work of the Assumption Mustangs and carried off a 10-3 victory. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Cade Christner tossed a big game, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off only one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February.

At the plate, Ty Galloway was a standout: he scored three runs and stole Four bases. while going 2-for-3. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Colton West also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Northlake Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.9 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 9.

Northlake Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games. Assumption's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northlake Christian will challenge Parkview Baptist at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Assumption, they will take on Thibodaux at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
