Basketball Game Preview: Butternut Midgets vs. Wright Red Devils

Butternut hasn't had much luck against Wright recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Midgets just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. Wright took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Butternut, who comes in off a win.

Butternut barely beat South Shore the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Midgets breezed past the Cardinals to the tune of 58-31 on Monday. The Midgets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Wright was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 58-53 to Wakefield. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 421st, while the Cardinals are ranked 196th).

Butternut is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Wright, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Butternut came up short against Wright when the teams last played back in January of 2020, falling 52-43. Can the Midgets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
