Volleyball Game Preview: Douglas Eagles vs. Sardis Lions

After both having extra time off, the Douglas Eagles and the Sardis Lions will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Douglas has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with five straight defeats, while Sardis will come in with five straight victories.

Douglas had taken Kate Duncan Smith DAR down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Monday. The Eagles came up short against the Patriots, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered against the Patriots since October 5, 2023.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-19, 25-12.

Meanwhile, Sardis beat Sylvania 2-0 on Tuesday.

Sardis' win bumped their record up to 25-10. As for Douglas, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-18.

Douglas suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Sardis when the teams last played back in September. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
