Football Game Preview: St. John's Islanders vs. Bethune-Bowman Mohawks + How To Watch

The St. John's Islanders will face off against the Bethune-Bowman Mohawks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. St. John's hasn't scored more than seven points for six games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

St. John's is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Cross on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Islanders took a blow against the Trojans, falling 42-0.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bethune-Bowman). They came out on top in a nail-biter against Branchville on Friday, sneaking past 34-32. The game was the first time the Mohawks have beaten the Yellow Jackets on their field since October 26, 2018.

The win made it two in a row for Bethune-Bowman and bumps their season record up to 2-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.0 points over those games. As for St. John's, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

St. John's suffered a grim 28-7 defeat to Bethune-Bowman when the teams last played back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Mohawks' Jaedon Bell, who threw for 172 yards and four TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes.
