Baseball Game Preview: Andrew Thunderbolts vs. Lincoln-Way Central Knights

The Andrew Thunderbolts will head out to face off against the Lincoln-Way Central Knights at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Andrew 3.5, Lincoln-Way Central 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Andrew is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Shepard a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Thunderbolts, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Lincoln-Way Central won against Hanover Central on Saturday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Knights came out on top against Thornton Fractional South by a score of 5-0. The win was familiar territory for the Knights, who have now won five matchups in a row.

Andrew has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Lincoln-Way Central, their win bumped their record up to 20-10.

Andrew suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to Lincoln-Way Central when the teams last played on May 12th. Can the Thunderbolts avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
