Basketball Recap: Parkersburg Christian Comes Up Short

After flying high against Hannan last Monday, Parkersburg Christian came back down to earth. Parkersburg Christian were beaten by the Wood County Christian Wildcat 67-37 on Friday. Parkersburg Christian was down 52-28 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

When it comes to explaining why Parkersburg Christian lost, don't look at Wyatt Meadows. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. Meadows is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexander Fluharty, who posted eight points and ten rebounds.

Parkersburg Christian now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Wood County Christian, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parkersburg Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Bloomingdale at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Parkersburg Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.7 points per game this season. As for Wood County Christian, they and Hannan will face off at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
