Preview: Rampart Rams vs. Pine Creek Eagles
The Rampart Rams will head out on the road to take on the Pine Creek Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Rampart comes in on four and Pine Creek on seven.
Even though Rampart has not done well against Liberty recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Rampart came out on top against Liberty by a score of 50-40.
Emily Huxtable continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Rampart's points. Another player making a difference was Isabelle Dufty, who scored six points.
In what's become a running theme this season, Pine Creek gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 66-32 win over Vista Ridge. Given Pine Creek's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while Vista Ridge is ranked 108th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Rampart now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Pine Creek, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-3.
Rampart was dealt a bruising 74-37 loss at the hands of Pine Creek when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Rampart, Brynae Stewart (who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and two steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
