Softball Recap: Person Comes Up Short

If Person was feeling good fresh off their 24-1 takedown of Williams on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rockets came up short against the Southern Alamance Patriots on Thursday, falling 12-5. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rockets of the 7-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Madison Snead and Makayla Walker did some serious damage despite the final result: Snead got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs, while Walker went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that Walker has launched this season.

Person's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Southern Alamance, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Person is set to face off against their familiar foe Eastern Alamance at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Southern Alamance will challenge rival Southeast Alamance at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
