Baseball Recap: Hackettstown Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Hackettstown ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Jefferson Township Falcons. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Aaron Wolderich spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hackettstown's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Marcos Rosado, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Hackettstown's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Jefferson Township, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-7.

Hackettstown will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
