Basketball Game Preview: Gilmour Academy Lancers vs. McKinley Bulldogs

The Gilmour Academy Lancers will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the McKinley Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Gilmour Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Gilmour Academy is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 59-57. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Lancers have suffered since January 2nd.

Meanwhile, McKinley waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 63-56 victory over the Panthers. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Panthers are ranked 118th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

McKinley's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Gilmour Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
