Basketball Game Preview: Cameron Dragons vs. Lathrop Mules

Cameron and Lathrop are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Dragons will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Mules at 6:15 p.m. Cameron will be strutting in after a victory while Lathrop will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Cameron turned things around against Gallatin on Wednesday. They blew past the Bulldogs 51-28. That 23-point margin sets a new team best for the Dragons this season.

Cameron relied on the efforts of Isabel Robinson, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards, and Kendall Berry, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Berry is becoming a predictor of the Dragons' success: when she posts at least eight boards the team is 3-1 (and 1-6 when she doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Thomas, who shot 42% from the field to rack up 13 points.

Cameron was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They are 3-1 when they've passed the ball that well.

Meanwhile, Lathrop was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 52-48 to Van Horn.

Lathrop has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Cameron, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
