Basketball Game Preview: Richmond Red Devils vs. Muncie Central Bearcats

The Richmond Red Devils will venture away from home to challenge the Muncie Central Bearcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Richmond has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Richmond took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They strolled past Phalen Leadership Academy with points to spare, taking the game 76-62. The victory was some much needed relief for the Red Devils as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Muncie Central). They took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 63-24 win over Muncie Burris. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Bearcats considering their 23-point performance the game before.

Muncie Central's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-9. As for Richmond, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.

Richmond couldn't quite finish off Muncie Central when the teams last played back in February of 2024 and fell 54-51. Thankfully for Richmond, DeMarkis Cole (who went 9 of 14 on his way to 24 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
