Volleyball Recap: Winter Haven Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Winter Haven kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Davenport Broncos, falling 3-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Winter Haven took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-15, 25-16.

Tron Wright paced Winter Haven's offense, picking up three kills. Wright got some help from Aiden Garnetto and his six assists.

Winter Haven will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Lakeland at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Davenport, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Haines City on the 5th.
