            Gueydan is preparing for their first  district matchup of the season  on Thursday. They will venture away from home to  face off against the Westminster Christian Academy Chargers  at 5:00  p.m.
Gueydan fell victim to Abbeville and their airtight pitching crew  on Wednesday. They lost  10-0 to the Wildcats. Having soared to a lofty 18  runs in the game before, the Bears' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Meanwhile,  after only one  run in their last  match, Westminster Christian Academy made sure to put some  runs up on the board against Highland Baptist Christian  on Tuesday. The Chargers came out on top against the Bears by a score of  10-7. With that  win, the Chargers brought their scoring average up to 6.3  runs per game.
The team  relied heavily on  Brylee Nero, who  fired off two  home runs and seven  RBI while going 2-for-3. Those  hits marked the first that  she  got this season. Another player making a difference was  Kiley LeBlanc, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.
 Nero wasn't the only one working in the  home run department: Westminster Christian Academy  lost a few balls and  finished the game with two  home runs. That's the most  home runs they've managed all season.
 With the  victory, Westminster Christian Academy broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-6. As for Gueydan, they dropped their record down to 2-9 with the  loss, which was their tenth straight  on the road dating back to last season.
