Baseball Recap: Gatlinburg-Pittman Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

Gatlinburg-Pittman took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Clinton, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Highlanders won by a run and slipped past the Dragons 4-3. This was a revenge game for the Highlanders: when they faced off against the Dragons on Thursday, they had to take a 12-4 loss.

Gatlinburg-Pittman saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tristan Davis, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Gatlinburg-Pittman's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-14. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Clinton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season.

Gatlinburg-Pittman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Clinton, they will head out on the road to take on Cumberland Gap at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.43 runs per game on average), something the Dragons will no doubt try to take advantage of.
