Basketball Game Preview: Echols County Wildcats vs. Lanier County Bulldogs

Echols County is 0-10 against Lanier County since January of 2020 but things could change on Saturday. The Echols County Wildcats will venture away from home to challenge the Lanier County Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Echols County is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They took a blow against Brooks County, falling 75-37. The Wildcats were down 60-34 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Meanwhile, Lanier County didn't have quite enough to beat Turner County on Friday and fell 61-58. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (56), the Bulldogs still had to take the loss.

Lanier County has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Echols County, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13.

Things could have been worse for Echols County, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 60-42 loss to Lanier County in their previous meeting back in January. Can Echols County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
