Volleyball Recap: Darien Has No Trouble Against Danbury

Darien's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They blew past the Danbury Hatters 3-0. The Blue Wave haven't had any issues with the Hatters recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Darien was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-15, 25-20.

Molly Maher paced Darien's offense, picking up eight kills. Maher got some help from Julianne Telgheder and her 17 assists. Audrey Brooks controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Darien now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Danbury, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Darien is set to take on their familiar foe Ludlowe at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Danbury will square off against rival St. Joseph at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
