Softball Game Preview: Creekside Knights vs. Providence School Stallions

The Creekside Knights will take on the Providence School Stallions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Creekside is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Creekside earned a 13-8 win over Clay. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won five in a row.

Carly Dall was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Presley Brinkley, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Emma Campbell was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Creekside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clay only posted an OBP of .389.

Meanwhile, Providence School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 11-5 to Matanzas.

Providence School saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Dimitrakopolis, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Dimitrakopolis also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another was Summer Stearns, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Providence School's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Creekside, their win bumped their record up to 12-7.

Creekside took their victory against Providence School when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0 score. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Stallions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
