Nathan Hale has no trouble against Webster

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Weatherford, the Nathan Hale Rangers were happy to have found some success on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 73-50 margin over Webster. Given Nathan Hale's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while Webster is ranked 393rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the defeat, Webster saw an underclassman step up: Hondo Avington scored 20 points. Avington continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last five games he's played. Sheldon Stephenson was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds.

Nathan Hale's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Webster, they bumped their record down to 2-11 with that loss, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nathan Hale will square off against Coweta at 11:45 a.m. on Thursday. Webster on the road again on Thursday and play against Warner at 8:30 p.m. on January 18th.
