Soccer Recap: Putnam County Takes a Loss

Putnam County lost against Lamar County back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Putnam County War Eagles lost 10-0 to the Lamar County Trojans. While losing is never fun, the War Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 363rd, while the Trojans are ranked 148th).

This is the second loss in a row for Putnam County and nudges their season record down to 2-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 5-4 Jasper County (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 61.1% over those games). As for Lamar County, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3.

Putnam County has already played their next contest (against Towers), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Lamar County, they will be playing at home against Jasper County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Lamar County will be up against Jasper County's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.4 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
