Orr had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.9 points) and they went ahead and made it ten on Sunday. They took down the Dyett Eagles 33-19. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Eagles are ranked 447th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Carmani Sharkey was her usual excellent self, going 6 of 14 on her way to 18 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Neshaun Russell, who posted four points and eight rebounds.

Orr's record is now 12-1. As for Dyett, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Orr will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on King at 5:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Dyett also won't see the court for a while: their next matchup is against Ogden International at 5:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Dyett's offense hasn't had much luck over their past three contests, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
