Softball Recap: Hill-McCloy Rams vs. Birch Run Panthers

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against New Lothrop, Hill-McCloy was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Birch Run Panthers 3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Hill-McCloy also won the last time the pair played last Saturday.

Lainey Cannon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. Cannon has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in eight consecutive pitching appearances. Cannon was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
