Recap: Pawnee City Indians vs. Sacred Heart Irish
This season hasn't been kind to the Pawnee City Indians, who are still winless after their 13th match. They were dealt a 49-9 loss at the hands of Sacred Heart on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Pawnee City has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Pawnee City saw an underclassman step up: Ericca Gyhra scored three points along with three steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Pawnee City struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They are winless (0-4) when they just don't pass the ball.
Pawnee City bumped their record down to 0-13 with that loss, which was their 12th straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.0 points per game. As for Sacred Heart, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pawnee City will take on Lewiston on Tuesday. Lewiston comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last 14 games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Sacred Heart, they will head out on the road to square off against Southern on Tuesday. Southern is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
