Basketball Recap: Eagle Mountain Extends Road Winning Streak to Three

If Springtown wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Eagle Mountain, they should've done a better job of containing Avery Moses. The Eagle Mountain Knights put the hurt on the Springtown Porcupines with a sharp 59-37 victory on Tuesday thanks in part to Moses, who dropped a double-double on 35 points and 13 boards. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Eagle Mountain's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Klain Ogamba, who posted eight points and six rebounds. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Eagle Mountain pushed their record up to 16-13 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points over those games. As for Springtown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-21.

Eagle Mountain and Springtown could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Eagle Mountain will square off against Burkburnett at 7:30 p.m. on Friday down 358 places (464 vs. 106). Similarly, Springtown (ranked 880th) will meet Krum (ranked 188th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
