Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Friday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!
Wright City Gets a Boost from Mcroberts Jr. in 33-28 Loss
Starting off the list is Wright City's Duan McRoberts Jr., who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. McRoberts Jr. rushed for 253 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.0 yards per carry, and also threw for 41 yards and a touchdown. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 86-yard run.
If history really does repeat itself, McRoberts Jr. might just drop another big game when he faces off against North Callaway on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time McRoberts Jr. saw the Thunderbirds), he rushed for 229 yards and a touchdown while picking up 12.1 yards per carry, and also threw for 87 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.

Adrian Combs Delivers Best Effort of Season
Montgomery County was led to victory by Adrian Combs, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Combs rushed for 59 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 373 yards and a touchdown. He is becoming a predictor of Montgomery County's success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is 2-1 (and 0-5 when he doesn't).
This year, Combs has thrown 10 touchdowns while averaging 185.9 passing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after eight games last season, he was only averaging 21.88 passing yards per game.
