Edison is 9-1 against Mount Vernon since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Eagles will challenge the Majors at 6:00 p.m. Edison is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.8 runs per game this season.

Friday just wasn't the day for Edison's offense. They came up short against Hayfield on Friday, falling 10-0. The game snapped a strange streak: the last six times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Meanwhile, Mount Vernon posted their closest victory since April 4, 2025 on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Annandale 13-12. The win was some much needed relief for the Majors as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Mount Vernon got a massive performance out of Isabella Erpestad, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple. Those four runs gave Erpestad a new career-high. Lily Grimsley was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Mount Vernon's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Edison, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.

Mount Vernon's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Edison has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Mount Vernon, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts. Will Edison keep running through batters, or will the Majors buck the trend?

Edison beat Mount Vernon 12-7 in their previous matchup back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
