Preview: Jackson Aggies vs. McIntosh Demons

Jackson is 8-2 against McIntosh since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Jackson Aggies will head out on the road to face off against the McIntosh Demons at 7:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Jackson comes in on six and McIntosh on eight.

Jackson scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 95-31 victory over Leroy. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 49-19.

Jackson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Micah Caster, who scored 18 points along with five assists. The contest was Caster's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was William Joseph Taylor, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

McIntosh has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 20 points or more this season. They blew past Citronelle 66-46. Given McIntosh's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while Citronelle is ranked 348th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jackson's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.7 points per game. McIntosh's record now sits at 9-1.

Jackson came up short against McIntosh in their previous matchup back in January, falling 60-47. Can Jackson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
