Basketball Game Preview: Yucaipa Thunderbirds vs. Cajon Cowboys

The Yucaipa Thunderbirds will challenge the Cajon Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, everything came up roses for Yucaipa against Redlands as the team secured a 60-19 win. Given the Thunderbirds' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Terriers are ranked 1132nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Cajon slipped by Citrus Valley 54-53 on Thursday.

Yucaipa has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points per game. As for Cajon, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-9.

Yucaipa won a contest that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in January, slipping by Cajon 43-42. Will Yucaipa repeat their success, or does Cajon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
