Football Recap: Delta Comes Up Short

Delta extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 3-6. They were dealt a 56-7 loss at the hands of the New Palestine Dragons. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-7.

Deacon Blevins threw for 93 yards and one touchdown. Matt Morey was his top target, picking up 84 receiving yards and one TD.

As for New Palestine, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their offensive performance: the team's won by an average of 38.9 points thus far.

Jacob Davis produced another solid performance throwing for 162 yards and three TDs on only 14 passes, while also rushing for 67 yards and one score on only six carries. Another player making a difference was Josh Ranes, who rushed for 102 yards.

Delta and New Palestine are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Eagles will square off against Fort Wayne Bishop Luers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Aven Thomas and Terrance Epperson. As for New Palestine, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Plainfield at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st.
