Baseball Game Preview: Jennings Bulldogs vs. Pitkin Tigers

The Jennings Bulldogs will challenge the Pitkin Tigers at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Jennings is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against South Beauregard on Wednesday. They lost 11-1 to the Knights. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, Pitkin's hitters rose to the challenge against a Pirates pitching crew that boasted an average of only 3.1 runs allowed on Tuesday. The Tigers blew past Hicks 13-2. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by seven runs or more this season.

Pitkin's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Jennings, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-17.

Jennings beat Pitkin 9-4 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
