League recap: Sonora climbs in state rankings with win

Sonora moved up to 427 from 522 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Freeway. The Raiders were able to make the jump by besting Fullerton 28-12.

Sonora took down the Indians 28-12 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Scott Lloyd put up the best numbers through the air as Fullerton lost to Paul Chiotti's team. He finished with a total of 10 completions for 104 yards and one touchdown. Lloyd's favorite target this week was Jesus Nodarse, who caught six passes for 42 yards.

Dallas Parent was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 148 yards on 22 carries as Troy defeated Buena Park. Teammate Nathan Fleming added to the ground attack by rushing for 55 yards.

Parent was the best wideout in the league this week as the Warriors defeated the Coyotes. Parent racked up three receptions for 43 yards. Dominic Vaccher helped Troy's passing attack out by catching two balls for 22 yards.

6-foot-2 quarterback Lloyd of Julian Smilowitz's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1005. He has also thrown eight touchdowns. On the ground, Buena Park's Deven Boston has rushed for 1200 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Nate Miranda. The Sonora star has 18 catches for 386 yards.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Troy takes on second place Sonora. Last week, Troy beat Anthony White's team, while the Raiders bested the Indians.

Nodarse of the Fullerton is only 59 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 122 carries Nodarse has accumulated 941 yard this year.

Sonora led the league in scoring this week after putting up 28 points on the Indians.
