Football Recap: Warren Keeps Western Christian's Under Pressure

Warren saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 20-6 bruising from the Western Christian Fighting Lancers. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while the Fighting Lancers are ranked 50th).

Even if they lost, Warren's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Laurie Fuentes, Amaris Blanco, and Sofia Aceves, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Warren's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Western Christian, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Coincidentally, Warren and Western Christian will both be playing Orange Lutheran the next time they take the field. The Bears will head out to face the Lancers at 5:25 p.m. on Friday, while the Fighting Lancers will play them later in the day, at 6:35 p.m.
