Basketball Game Preview: Yazoo City Indians vs. Murrah Mustangs

The Yazoo City Indians will head out on the road to challenge the Murrah Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Yazoo City didn't have quite enough to beat Cleveland Central and fell 40-37. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Wolves recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Meanwhile, Murrah was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 67-34 loss at the hands of Starkville. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked third).

Murrah's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Yazoo City, their loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-9.

Yazoo City lost to Murrah on the road by a decisive 71-56 margin when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Can Yazoo City avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
