Recap: White River Valley Wolverines vs. North Central Thunderbirds
After flying high against the Dugger Union Bulldogs last Tuesday, the White River Valley Wolverines came back down to earth. White River Valley was dealt a 67-35 defeat at the hands of North Central on Saturday. White River Valley was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as North Central apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
North Central can attribute much of their success to Trashaun Cockrell, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 10 assists. The game was Cockrell's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was DJ Suggs, who scored 11 points.
White River Valley now has a losing record at 1-2. As for North Central, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
White River Valley will head out on the road to face off against Wood Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for North Central, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against North Daviess at 7:30 p.m.
