Softball Recap: Adams Comes Up Short

After a string of three wins, Adams's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost 12-6 to the Samuell Spartans. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Spartans earlier this season, when they won 19-6.

Olivia Melendez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ellie McAnally, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Adams now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Samuell, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Adams is set to challenge their familiar foe Poteet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Samuell will take on rival West Mesquite at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
