Cave City waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the Izard County Cougars. That's two games straight that the Cavemen have won by just one run.

Cave City pushed their record up to 14-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Izard County, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4.

Coming up, Cave City will welcome Salem at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Greyhounds will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Cavemen surely won't give up without a fight. As for Izard County, they will head out to square off against Sloan-Hendrix at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Greyhounds have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
