Basketball Recap: Warren Central Takes a Loss

Warren Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 66-23 loss at the hands of the Callaway Chargers. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Chargers are ranked tenth).

Jahanna Wilson was her usual excellent self, putting up 17 points and five boards for Callaway. Wilson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 18 games she's played. Jernae Ringgold was another key player, scoring ten points and three steals.

Warren Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Callaway, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.

Warren Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 46-37 loss against Ridgeland on the 24th. Callaway has also already played their next game (against Columbus), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
