Baseball Recap: Pojoaque Valley Takes a Loss

After flying high against Espanola Valley last Saturday, Pojoaque Valley came back down to earth. The Elks/Elkettes fell just short of the Taos Tigers by a score of 12-11 on Wednesday. The Elks/Elkettes haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Pojoaque Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Taos, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pojoaque Valley will square off against Los Alamos at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Hilltoppers will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Elks/Elkettes surely won't give up without a fight. As for Taos, they will take on Moriarty at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Pintos have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.15 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
